| Most of this group had spend a significant number of years wandering the Eastern Mojave and Death Valley this was our first organized excursion, whatever that means. It was a three-day run over the Mojave Road starting on the west bank of the Colorado River (long before the Indian Reservation and Casino was developed) and ended at Fort Cady. (Really Martha's on the old Las Vegas Highway for a hamburger and beer). Although Martha and Martha's Cafe are gone now, in those days you did not run the Mojave Road without ending up at Martha's. This was also a few years before the Eastern Mojave Preserve was deemed necessary to protect us from ourselves. The old photographs are limited but take a look and enjoy. | ||
