The Forth of July is a special time at Newberry Springs as the community comes together in a number of functions to celebrate the occasion.  This year the weather was again hot but the refreshing lake water, good friends, fast motorcycles, beautiful women and great barbeques neutralized any negatives.  The Lake became the center of attention and the place to be after it was discovered that an ice cold container of golden amber always drifted on the waves.  In the evenings the mellow mood music floated across the soft water as slow dancing under the colored lights of the bridge, and a full moon consumed everyone's being.  It is times like these that mollify the soul and enhance an appreciation of existence.  The early morning motorcycle rides were invigorating as the Sun peaked above the mountains warming the cool fresh desert air.  Another day was beginning and excitement filled the air and all was at peace with the world.
