Tour of the DOME HOUSE courtesy of Dr. Arden and Mary Reynolds. House is built on an extinct volcano and getting there will be half the fun. Lunch and beverages will be available.

SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES: The maiden outing to Lake HiRi started with a Friday night "Soup Buffet", whose time and menu would become a group tradition. On Saturday morning of March 21, 1992, the President of the Barstow Mojave Valley Museum and Author of "The Backdoor to California; History of the Mojave River Trail" lectured on the highlights of the Newberry Springs area. Saturday midday featured a trip to Dr Arden and Mary Reynolds' Dome House for hors d'oeuvres. Saturday night dining featured meat dishes by the ladies cooked in small Bar-B-Q's outside the "Hicks Hideaway". (The sharing of culinary duties by the entire membership characterizes most mealtimes both past and present on the Hookups' treks.) A Sunday Continental breakfast was followed by hugs and farewells and a request to the Jones and Hicks to "do this again out here sometime... |
