SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES:
A
theme which could be as patriotic and proper on Flag Day, on Veterans Day,
or the 4th of July colored the sixth bicentennial conclave in
April. “ Red, White, and Blue in 2002 “ found these colors on the
tables inside the Hicks Hideaway Recreation Room ( really a fancied up
garage. ) Small American flags fluttered around the lake and at the
entrance to the compound.
A new coupling of wagonmaster pairs for the Newberry Springs adventure found Robb and Lenore Hicks happily teamed up with Ken and Betty Hanke. The Plunkit competition was held on Friday instead of a weekend day for a change. Another variation was the Saturday drive for main meal munching to Peggy Sue’s 50’s Diner for Burgers Fries, and mustache making thick, creamy milkshakes.
The
Central Coast Hicks’ Jeff and Kim created as their drink of the day
special heartily blended pina coladas.
Animated
evening Bingo and a raffle drawing with a record set for the most prizes
awarded for any HiRi party or affair at the desert closed a jovial day’s
activity.
